Jackie-O Motherfucker
Liberation

All Tomorrow's Parties ATPRCD-10

CD
£11.99

Great reissue of Jackie-O’s 2001 follow-up to Fig.5, the considerably more expansive Liberation welds the savage/joyous folk spirit of that particular landmark onto some minimal, slow-blowing free rock/jazz, with high lonesome brass chugging the tone from wired electric guitars and stubby drum machines.

Jackie-O Motherfucker
Live Radio 2002-2003

U-Sound Vol-20

CD-R
£8.99

Aces-up collection of radio sessions from JOMF, with a London session that features their great/weird take on West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band's "I Won't Hurt You", a WFMU blast and a phantom jam from Paris. All-new full colour screened sleeves look gorgeous too.

America Mystica

£16.99

New vinyl version of the current JOMF album, limited to 500 copies: "America Mystica is a collection of four live recordings, made under varied circumstances, ranging from the quiet and comfortable setting of the WFMU -free form radio recording studio, to the live theatre environment at the cube cinema in bristol england, where the group was recorded in concert performance. The line-up includes Montreal musicians Fluffy Erskine and David Bryant, as well as long time JOMF members T. Greenwood and Brooke Crouser also appearing in these recordings are Jeff Mooridian, Adam Forkner, Honey Owens, Jessie Carrot, Theo Angell, Samara Lubelski, Josh Stevenson, Genevieve Delinger, Alexander Tucker and Andy Cvar, with live sound by Craig Bowen. The four compositions contained here, issued for the first time ever by Very Friendly, are all quite long, even by JOMF standards, the shortest piece being over 19 minutes long. listening to this work requires some patience, but is richly rewarding, as each piece unfolds and delivers it's content in a way completely unique, and timeless. raw blues, layered drones, and hypnotic percussion combine with pulsing micro-tones, turntable live/samples, bells, whispers, and jive talk, to create a poetic, trance-psych classic. Edited in Portland, Or. with Andy Brown for the unity sound archive."

Important Records Imprec-148

CD

"The project was born out of an idea from Tom Greenwood, leader of the avant-folk-blues ensemble Jackie-O Motherfucker, who invited Maurizio and Roberto Opalio, aka the Italian improv duo My Cat Is An Alien (MCIAA), and their close collaborator Ramona Ponzini (also involved with the two brothers in the projects named Painting Petals On Planet Ghost and Praxinoscope, as well as in the new collaboration with Z'ev) to perform with him for two months of touring throughout all Europe in May/ June 2005. As one can imagine, the result was killer. The music which came out of he live performances was totally explosive, combining Ramona's Japanese vocals & hypnotic chimes with Greenwood's psych-blues guitar attitude & wild turntablism over MCIAA's alien cosmic flux of electric guitars, space toys & percussions, creating a still unheard mixture of sounds unifying archaic & post-modern, western & eastern, sky & earth. This debut CD represents a unique chance to experience almost 80 minutes of that pure and magic live action, divided in four long tracks taken from the original live recordings. Black Magic Disco's logo comes from the pencil of Roberto Opalio; the gatefold jacket CD artwork, curated by MCIAA contains some band photos taken during the live performances included in the record." - IR.
